About us

Like many automotive repair businesses, what we know today as Victory Machine, began in a residential garage where owner Victor “Vic” Anderson first watched his dad work on cars and soon fell in love with the world of “cool” muscle cars.

At the age of 12, Vic’s dad would give Vic his Grand Auto credit card to go get parts he needed to fix neighbors’ cars; by 13, Vic was fixing the cars by himself. In high-school Vic continued his education in automotive classes he took, though says he learned far more from his dad and the hands-on repair work they did in their home garage than in any classes.

After high school, Vic went to work at an auto parts store so he could get a discount on the parts he needed to work on his own cars and those of friends and neighbors. After store hours, Vic would hang out in the back machine shop and learned more about that part of the business. In 1980/81 Vic dubbed himself ‘Vic Anderson Racing Engines’ and himself built all the motors for his own and friends/neighbors’ projects, then soon was building engines for
customers who came to the parts store for parts or machine work. It was not unusual to see at least four or five cars in his driveway in various stages of repair at any given time.

Victory Machine Begins

In 1987, Vic bought his own parts store, D&D Auto Parts, Inc., which also had a machine shop in the back. By 1990, business was so good, Vic expanded by opening a second location of D&D Auto Parts with a bigger machine shop. In 2000, Vic closed his parts stores and set up the dba Victory Machine, focusing on machine work and engine building. Throughout the years, Vic had dabbled in restoration work, which became a regular service offered to customers when he opened a body shop in 2001. Although Vic decided to close the body shop after about seven years, Victory Machine continues to offer full restoration services, doing most of the work in-house, outsourcing only some body work, all painting and upholstery repair.

Victory Machine provides regular automotive services on most cars, but restoring classic cars and building engines is definitely what brings Vic and the employees of Victory Machine the most joy. With all his years of experience, Vic is often hired to consult on projects and/or even travel to look at cars someone is looking to buy in order to make sure his customers are getting the best value for their money. Vic takes great pride in the quality and integrity of the work done by Victory Machine. Stop by and visit the shop in Campbell at 625 E. McGlincy or call next time you have need of any machine building, automotive or restoration services!

"Excellent service...they always go the extra mile. I was referred by another classic car Owner about two-years ago. I have been using Vic (the Owner) ever since. They are the only place I go for any work on 69 convertible GTO. Anyone who babies their classic cars knows how lucky we are to have such experts still helping us. I absolutely recommend Victory Machine."

Mark M.

"Vic and team have handled machining work for three of my builds in the past 2 years. I've found them to be responsive, honest, and up to the challenge of a rare engine like my '67 Pontiac OHC6 Sprint. Scott is a very capable machinist and has exceptional knowledge on the Ford FE platform."

Cory A.

"Victory has supported my race car for a few years now and I have found Scott (head machinist) to be a great wealth of knowledge and experience to provide me the services I need to keep my race car competing against the fastest small tire grudge cars on the west coast."
